Problem solving planner

Think about a goal you have where there's a problem that's stopping you from achieving your goal.

Step 1

Note down what you think about these questions:
·       What's the goal I'm trying to achieve?
·       What's the problem?

Step 2

Come up with four possible ways to solve this problem. For example:
·       ask for advice
·       change the goal
·       avoid the cause
·       or something else.
Note each solution down and number them 1 to 4, with the best solution number 1.

Step 3

Now try your first solution.

Step 4

Make a few notes about how your solution went.
·       If your solution worked, that's great!
Can you use this solution again?
·       If your solution didn't work, that's not so good, but it's OK.
What could be done differently next time?

Step 5

Go back to Step 3 and try solutions 2, 3 and 4 in turn.

Which solution turns out to be best?
